I also teach photography classes on occasion. One of my past students, Julie Zorn Shipp, took this portrait of me. Teaching others how to take cool photos is just as cool as taking cool photos yourself.
I live to create, and am intrigued by others who do the same. Since before I can remember, cameras and photographs have fascinated me. They intrigued me so much that when I was about four years old, I “borrowed” my neighbor’s camera, and shot every bit of the film left on the roll and then put it back before he missed it. My parents took note of my interest, and when I was eight, my dad bought me my first camera. Who knew then that twenty years later, I would end up making my living with a camera.
While I can shoot just about any type of photography, I seem to excel at working with people. It is my love for and desire to truly understand people from all walks of life that allows me to not only capture someone’s likeness, but to also capture their personality.
In 2003, I graduated from the photography program at The Creative Circus and ever since, I’ve worked in a profession I’ve always dreamed about.
